Sadia (she/her), Feminist Leader
“Women RISE transformed my confidence and inspired me to continue my education and pursue opportunities I once thought were beyond my reach. The program helped me rediscover my potential, strengthen my leadership, and believe in my ability to create change. Today, I am completing my Master’s degree and representing my research on the global stage as a University of Oxford Map the System Global Finalist.”
Barishna (she/her)
Social Service Worker
BCS gave me the knowledge, confidence, and leadership skills to advocate for racialized women and remind them that they are not alone. Through BCS women and youth leadership projects, I learned the importance of community organizing, storytelling, and self-care while building connections with mentors, employers, and policymakers. I am proud to continue standing with women, raising their voices, and working toward meaningful change.”
Sakib (he/him), Youth Leader
“The Together End Racism in Toronto project deepened my understanding of racism, equity, and social justice while providing opportunities to engage with the community, build meaningful connections, and learn from diverse experiences. It strengthened my confidence to advocate for inclusion and inspired me to continue contributing to a more just and equitable society.”
